Novel Tea Dance Shim Shag with Kate Campbell - April 24, 2021
NOVEL TEA DANCE SHIM SHAG WITH KATE
Thank you for attending the Shim Shag with Kate.
Please enjoy this summary video of Kate doing the Shim Shag.
--------------------------------------
Join us on April 24th at 7:30pm for the fifth instalment of our online solo jazz and swing program when we turn our attention to the Shim Shag.
Just over a year ago, Kate came all the way from Australia to teach us Shag. Now Kate is back (virtually) to teach us the Shim Shag!
The Shim Shag is a Shag version of the Shim Sham. Shim Sham + Shag = Shim Shag.
So dust off those computer monitors, plug in your webcam and most importantly put on your dancing shoes.
Brought to you by teachers from across the globe, Novel-Tea Dancing Through The Ages focuses on dancing without the need for a partner and will cover solo steps, solo routines, novelty dances and everything in between. To be presented live via Zoom, these 1-hour classes will put the social into your social distancing and the swing into your step.
Admission is by donation, and nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds.
Zoom Link opens at 7:15, Introductions at 7:20, and Class Starts at 7:30pm. Zoom link will be posted here, on our facebook page, and sent out in our newsletter before the event.

A bit about Kate:
In 2004 Kate got a chance to go and see this swing band on a Friday night. Instantly hooked, she started social dancing with the friendly regulars and knew this was a style she was going to stick with. While she finds choreographing and performing Collegiate Shag “epically fun”, Kate relishes in the joy and connection that comes from social dancing. Kate has attended workshops, taught and competed in various styles of swing dance in Melbourne, Adelaide, Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
